Pluribus is a post-apocalyptic drama unlike anything else. Set in a world where an alien virus has turned everyone into a happy, perfectly content hive mind, we follow Carol (Rhea Seehorn), one of the few people immune to the virus. Surrounded by bizarre, unnatural happiness, she embarks on a quest to stop the alien virus from wiping out humanity completely.

Pluribus is the first project created by Vince Gilligan since Breaking Bad and its spinoffs. Apple TV angled the series as a massive launch from the outset, with tons of enigmatic teasers; nobody quite knew what was coming, but the involvement of Vince Gilligan was more than enough incentive to get everyone hyped.

Not long after it debuted, Pluribus managed to cement itself as Apple TV's biggest-ever series launch, overtaking Severance season 2. Now, a report from 9to5mac has confirmed that Pluribus has gone one step further: it is officially the most-watched show in the streamer's history. No viewership numbers have been revealed, but we'll happily take Apple's word as gospel.

Apple TV celebrated the landmark moment on X, writing: "It's official, Carol" followed by a clip:

In addition to Pluribus dominating the streamer's TV division, it's also been revealed that F1: The Movie has debuted at the summit Apple TV’s movie rankings. Amid all the talk around Netflix in recent weeks, Apple TV is smashing it out the park with original dramas. Pluribus is yet another jewel in the crown.

When crafting Pluribus, creator Vince Gilligan envisioned Rhea Seehorn as the main character from the outset. He'd previously worked with her on Better Call Saul. When the time came for her to step into a protagonist role, Gilligan had already crafted the perfect part. "I wrote this show for her," Gilligan told Games Radar. "I love her so much."

""We got to know her and enjoyed writing for her on Better Call Saul – so much so that I created this show just for her. I knew she would be good in it; I knew she was someone I could confidently count on and place a bet on in terms of making her the star of a TV show… I thought it was long past time for her to be a star." "

Pluribus season 1 wraps up on December 26 after nine epiosdes. The series has already been renewed for season 2, with even more potentially in the pipeline!
