Queen's Blood

Oh, and just when you thought Final Fantasy VII Rebirth couldn't possibly cram more excitement into its already jam-packed world, the developers decided to throw in a wild card, quite literally. Enter Queen's Blood, the card game sensation that's sweeping the continents faster than a Chocobo on a caffeine binge.

Amidst your epic quest to save the planet, you can take a breather in the cozy corners of taverns or on the beach to play a strategic card game that's as addicting as it is intricate and, sometimes, very infuriating.

Queen's Blood isn't just your run-of-the-mill, slap-some-cards-down-and-hope-for-the-best kind of game. It's a masterfully designed blend of strategy, luck, and lore, with cards featuring everything from fearsome monsters to iconic characters and spells from the Final Fantasy VII universe. Each card battle is a mini-epic where players must outthink and outmaneuver their opponents, drawing on the rich history and abilities of the game's world. It's like having a whole new game within the game, offering not just a pleasant distraction but a deep, competitive scene that could steal hours of your time — and you'd gladly give them.

Integrating Queen's Blood into Final Fantasy VII Rebirth was a stroke of genius, adding a layer of engagement that connects players to the world and its lore in a uniquely interactive way. It's not just about battling monsters and uncovering conspiracies anymore; it's also about becoming the undisputed Queen's Blood champion, a title that carries its own bragging rights. Whether you're a hardened card game veteran ready to deploy your master strategies or a curious newcomer eager to collect every card, Queen's Blood is a thrilling journey all its own, peppered throughout the vast, open world of Rebirth.

For those of us who don't quite get card games the first time we play them (or, you know, for those who accidentally skip the entire tutorial and therefore have to rely on another fellow reviewer who happens to be one of your best buds to make an actual whiteboard presentation on how to play the damn game), relax — I got you. Or, rather, my best bud who taught me how to play this game has your back with this excellent how-to-play piece that teaches you the basics. Thanks, Eric.

If you haven't grabbed this masterpiece of a game yet, I urge you to. It's fun, it's funny, it's intense. It's Final Fantasy at its best. Here's to waiting however long it takes for the third and final Remake installment.
