Blood and battle on the way in new pics from House of the Dragon season 2 Episode 4
By Dan Selcke
While we break down the latest episode of House of the Dragon, "The Burning Mill," HBO has gone ahead and released a bunch of new images from this upcoming Sunday's new installment! We don't know what the title of this next episode is, but we suspect it will feature a huge battle sequence the cast and crew spent a long time filming. Strap in, all; this is gonna be a wild one.
But before we get to that, let's check in on a few of our other characters. Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith) remains in Harrenahl, where he's trying to raise an army on the behalf of Queen Rhaenyra (Emma D'Arcy). Helping him is the castle's castellan, Sir Simon Strong (Simon Russell Beale):
During the day, Daemon is meeting with Riverlords and handing out justice. But his nights have been troubled. Last episode, he had a creepy dream where he encountered a young Rhaenyra Targaryen (Milly Alcock returning for a cameo). And then a spooky lady named Alys Rivers told him he would die in this place. The welcome wagon here sucks.
In the new episode, Daemon will get to know Alys a bit better:
King's Landing and Dragonstone
Meanwhile, King Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney) continues to struggle to rule in King's Landing. It looks like he may turn to his mother Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke) for a bit of advice:
And if Alicent isn't forthcoming with advice, there's always the skeevy Larys Strong (Matthew Needham), Aegon's new Master of Whisperers:
In "The Burning Mill," Aegon caught his brother Aemond (Ewan Mitchell) in a moment of vulnerability and wasted no time mocking him about it. Did that get to Aemond? As usual, he tries to hide what he's thinking:
While the Greens debate how to handle the war in King's Landing, Queen Rhaenyra and the Blacks are doing the same thing on Dragonstone. It looks like Corlys Velaryon (Steve Toussaint) will return to the Painted Table for the first time this season to lend his wisdom to Rhaenyra's cause:
In the midst of war, Rhaenyra takes a moment to speak to her eldest son and heir, Jacaerys (Harry Collett):
The Battle of Rook's Rest
Finally, HBO has released a few pics from the upcoming battle between Criston Cole's Green army and...well, clearly HBO doesn't want to give too much away and we won't either:
Although we will say that Alicent's brother Gwayne Hightower (Freddie Fox) continues to ride at Criston Cole's side, probably to Criston's great annoyance:
The new episode of House of the Dragon airs this Sunday, July 7 at 8:00 p.m. CST on HBO and Max!
