The second season of Invincible has ended. A third season is on the way, but we don't know when exactly new episodes will start to air on Amazon Prime Video. So we'll be sitting with the aftermath of the season 2 finale, "I Thought You Were Stronger" for awhile.

A lot happened in that episodes, including a long-overdue confrontation between teenaged superhero Mark Grayson, aka Invincible, and the multiverse-hopping Angstrom Levy. But we're here to talk about something else: romance, specifically between Mark and fellow superhero Atom Eve. (Go no further if you wish to avoid SPOILERS!)

After getting stranded in an alternate universe, Mark is eventually rescued by grown-up versions of the Guardians of the Globe, including an older Atom Eve. Before the Guardians send Mark back to his own time, Eve tells Mark that she was in love with him, and encourages him to tell the younger version of her how he feels about her, if he feels anything at all. Even if he doesn't reciprocate her feelings, if he tells her the truth, at least she'll be able to move on with her life.

Mark tries to say something to Eve, but doesn't get the words out. And that's where we leave them at the end of the episode.

However, the Invincible comics by Robert Kirkman have been finished for years, so we know what's in store for Mark and Eve. Once again, read no further if you wish to avoid MAJOR SPOILERS!

Do Mark and Eve get together on Invincible?

The short answer is yes, Mark and Eve do eventually get together on Invincible. In fact, they'll probably get together pretty soon. In the comics, Atom Eve visits Mark right after she learns that he and his girlfriend Amber have broken up, something that has already happened on the show. She wants to talk about their relationship, but Mark isn't sure he's ready to commit. She leaves and is eventually captured by Doctor Seismic, a villain who's been introduced on the show. After that situation is dealt with, Mark admits his feelings for Eve. They kiss and begin a relationship.

The show has scrambled some of these events. For instance, when Mark and Eve have their talk in the comics, they've already shared an extemporaneous kiss that surprised them both. That hasn't happened in the show yet. Still, most of the pieces are in place. I'd bet money that these two will kick off their romance pretty early in season 3, whenever that arrives.

After that, they have a long road ahead of them. I won't spoil the big details, but they go on dates around the world, fall deeper in love, get married (Eve proposes) and have a child. There are a lot of ups and downs along the way. I hope Invincible is on the air long enough to explore them.
