Created by comedy dream team Taika Waititi, Iain Morris and Jemaine Clement, Time Bandits premiered to great reviews on Apple TV+. The series, based on the 1981 movie directed by Terry Gilliam, follows Kevin (Kal-El Tuck), an 11-year-old history nerd from a small town in England. One night, his bedroom is invaded by a ragtag band of thieves led by Penelope (Lisa Kudrow) who drop through portals that can take them everywhere throughout history. In pursuit of his dreams of witnessing real history — and later having to save his parents and the world from Pure Evil — Kevin joins the bandits on their epic adventures.

In Episode 3, the bandits drop into medieval times, where they stumble across a fortress struggling under hard times. There, Kevin — having stolen a dinosaur skull — is hailed as a dragonslayer. It’s a hilarious episode and one of the best the season. And for those of you who simply cannot wait, we present to you an exclusive sneak peek. Check it out:

Time Bandits season 1 has 10 episodes. Two new episodes air weekly on Apple TV+, with the season finale set to air on August 21. Currently, Apple has not renewed the show for additional seasons, although co-creator Jemaine Clement recently revealed that the team is already hard at work penning the season 2 scripts.

"We are actually writing a second season, but it depends on if people watch the first season," he told ComicBook. "If no one watches it, we throw it away in a bin. But I cannot tell you because I don't want to spoil the second season."

Time Bandits Episode 3, "Medieval," premieres Wednesday, July 31 on AppleTV+.
