The second season of House of the Dragon will introduce us to a ton of new characters, among them Lord Cregan Stark (Tom Taylor) and Gwayne Hightower (Freddie Fox), brother to Alicent Hightower. The cast is about to blow up in a huge way.

In an exclusive clip from House of the Dragon: War Room, showrunner Ryan Condal talks up a couple of newcomers, starting with Tom Taylor's Cregan Stark. "It's always fun to meet a new Stark," he said. We didn't spend much time with any Starks in the first season of House of the Dragon, so to have one in the main cast should be a fun nostalgia trip for Game of Thrones fans.

Condal spent more time talking about Gwayne Hightower, who will obviously be supporting his nephew Aegon II Targaryen (Tom Glynn-Carney) in the coming war for the Iron Throne, fought between King Aegon and his older half-sister Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D'Arcy). "Gwayne is kind of this posh boarding school kid who had all the finest horse-riding instructors and combat trainers and things like that, but nobody in this world has been to war, because we've been at peace for essentially three-quarters of a century," Condal explained. "So he brings a lot of his swaggery upbringing into the story and then is suddenly thrust into a very real war."

Freddie Fox is an English actor with many screen and theater credits to his name. Being on a show as popular as House of the Dragon can only be good for his career.
