Fans seem convinced they know the identity of the Sith Lord on The Acolyte
By Dan Selcke
The Acolyte, the newest show in the expanding Star Wars television universe, was initially sold as a mystery story: who is killing Jedi across the galaxy? But that ended up being something of a misdirect; we find out in the first episode that the murderer is Mae, a Sith-in-training played by Amandla Stenberg.
But the show still has a mystery at its center: who is Mae's Sith master, who appears at various points — fully masked, of course — to drop pearls of brutal wisdom? Mae has a boss, and Star Wars fans think they've already figured out who he is.

Qimir is (probably) the mystery Sith in Star Wars: The Acolyte
In the first two episodes of The Acolyte, Mae works with a shady character named Qimir (Manny Jacinto) who serves the same Sith lord that she does. At one point, they quote part of the Sith code to each other. "The Jedi justify their galactic dominance in the name of peace, and peace..." Qimir begins, "is a lie," Mae finishes.
Here's the full Sith code, according to Games Radar: "Peace is a lie. / There is only Passion. / Through Passion, I gain Strength. / Through Strength, I gain Power. / Through Power, I gain Victory. / Through Victory my chains are Broken. / The Force shall free me." Intense folk, those Sith.
Qimir seems to have a lot of talents; he whips up a poison in no time flat, knows the location of the Jedi Mae wants to kill, can hold his own in a fight, and can ferry himself and Mae around the galaxy with seemingly little difficulty. You see where I'm going with this? Fans this Qimir is Mae's Sith master.
On Reddit, BruceDSpruce cites an interview with George Lucas where he talks about how masters may appear as insignificant people you wouldn't think are important until they reveal their true power, like Yoda. Bruce thinks that applies to Qimir. He also notes that the name "Qimir" seems like a Spanish derivative of "Chimera," which is a monster composed of multiple parts. That bit sounds like a stretch to me, but sure, why not?
Fans and outlets seem to have signed onto the theory, which I can believe is true. That's kind of a shame, because now it's another mystery down. We'll see what the next couple episodes bring.
The Acolyte is the highest-rated premiere of any Disney+ show so far this year
Whatever the resolution of this mystery, Disney has reason to be happy about The Acolyte, which racked up 4.8 million views in its first day of availability. It's hard to compare Disney+ shows to each other since Disney doesn't make numbers available for all of them, but Variety calculates that this puts The Acolyte ahead of Ahsoka, the last Star Wars show to air on the streaming service.
New episodes of Star Wars: The Acolyte drop on Tuesday nights on Disney+
