Game of Thrones cast will reunite to recreate a scene at this weekend's Emmys

This Monday, cast members from Game of Thrones will reunite to recreate a scene at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards! But which scene...?

Well, my interest in watching the 75th annual Emmys just went up. According to ABC News, this Monday's award show will feature reunions of casts from throughout television history, some of whom will recreate famous scenes from their shows. The Emmys will include what executive producer Jesse Collins called "a great Game of Thrones moment."

The idea is to honor the history of TV by highlighting iconic series, starting with I Love Lucy and going through The Carol Burnett Show, All in the Family, Saturday Night Live, Cheers, The Arsenio Hall Show, Ally McBeal, Martin, The Sopranos, Grey's Anatomy, American Horror Story and Game of Thrones. “The core of it is really celebrating television and to honor the shows of yesterday while we honor the shows of today," said executive producer Dionne Harmon.

Obviously, cast reunions for some of these shows aren't possible. For example, the tribute to I Love Lucy will involve actors playing the roles of Lucy and Ethel, original actors Lucille Ball and Vivian Vance having both died decades ago. But Game of Thrones only ended a few years ago and most of the cast members are still with us, although actors like Diana Rigg (Lady Olenna Tyrell) have passed.

In any case, apparently it wasn't hard to get the cast members on these shows to reunite. “People are happy to be back and happy to celebrate,” Harmon said. “It is a monumental year. Everybody was really excited to come be a part of this.”

So what scene do we think the Game of Thrones cast will recreate? ABC News mentions that some of the scenes will feature recreations of sets, like the bar from Cheers. We can probably rule out a recreation of the Battle of the Bastards or anything big like that which would require tons of special effects. I want to say that the Red Wedding is a likely candidate -- it's the most famous scene from the series, after all -- but do Emmy audiences really want blood being sprayed all over them?

What if they recreated Tyrion Lannister's trial from Game of Thrones season 4? You'd pretty much just need a roomful of great actors for that.

We'll find out what's in store (and which actors are involved) when the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards air this Monday, January 15, at 8:00 p.m. EST on Fox.
