The third season of Prime Video's fantasy series The Wheel of Time will continue the adventures of Rand al'Thor, Egwene al'Vere, Mat Cauthon, and many other members of the rapidly expanding cast. Case in point: The Wheel of Time site WotSeries brings us news of three new actors joining the fantasy show, including the wife of Game of Thrones veteran Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who played Jaime Lannister for all eight seasons of the HBO drama.
We'll start with Nukâka Coster-Waldau, a Greenlandic actor who's appeared in various film and TV projects over the years, including the award-winning film Anori.
Next up, Björn Landberg is a German actor, voice actor, and singer who has a few albums to his name. Apparently he started his career as Kevin Kraus, which is certainly a more German-sounding name than Björn Landberg. I don't why he switched and don't plan to inquire further. Sounds like an interesting story, though.
Finally, Synnøve Macody Lund is a Norweigan actor, model, and director with credits in movies and TV shows like Saw X, Ragnarok, and Everybody Loves Diamonds. She's also a published novelist.
We don't know who these actors will play, although WoTSeries points out that Landberg's singing voice points towards him playing a certain "gleeman" we expect to feature in season 3, while Lund's height — she's six feet tall — may mean she's playing an Aiel. As for Nukâka Coster-Waldau, whenever I learn than an adult woman has been cast on The Wheel of Time, I usually assume they're playing an Aes Sedai sorceress. There are a million of them so the odds seem pretty good.
We'll find out for sure whenever Amazon airs The Wheel of Time season 3 on Prime Video, which will probably be in 2025, although my optimist's heart holds out hope for a late 2024 release.
