Henry Cavill swordplay like we've never seen in Highlander reboot

As usual, Henry Cavill is busy, with multiple Guy Ritchie movies, a Highlander reboot, and never-ending speculation that he could play James Bond.

Henry Cavill is one of the most sought-after actors working together, a British man with a jaw that could cut glass and a list of action movie credentials a mile long. Even now, he's starring in the spy flick The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare from director Guy Ritchie. That's after starring in another spy film Argylle. He has so much work that he had to vacate his space on The Witcher, where he played the title character.

Among Cavill's upcoming projects include a Warhammer TV show for Amazon Prime Video, another Guy Ritchie movie called In The Grey he'll star in opposite Jake Gyllenhaal, and a reboot of the Highlander franchise, where he'll star as an immortal warrior trying to kill other immortal warriors, since there can be only one. “If you thought you’d seen me do sword work before, you haven’t seen anything yet,” he hinted of the Highlander reboot earlier this month, according to Deadline.

A Highlander reboot certainly fits in with Cavill's penchant for sci-fi, fantasy, and all things nerdy. The new movie is coming from Chad Stahelski, director of the John Wick films. “I’m a lover of the original [Highlander] movies, for better or for worse, and it’s one of those things where when I was reading the script for the first time I wasn’t quite too sure where they were going to go with it,” Cavill said. “[The first few movies] touched on the lore … but my goodness me oh my, we are going deep into these characters.”

Cavill also spared some praise for his In The Grey costar Jake Gyllenhaal. “Jake is not only an incredible talent but what a wonderful man. I’m hoping we may see both of us on screen more often.”

Henry Cavill answers the ancient question: Could he be the next James Bond?

If all of these projects weren't enough, people want to see even more of Cavill. He's been dogged for years by rumors that he might play James Bond, an iconic character who needs a new actor to play him now that Daniel Craig has stepped down from the role. The other week, an AI-produced trailer for a theoretical James Bond film featuring Cavill and Margot Robbie in the lead roles went viral, inspiring another round of speculation.

“I have no idea," Cavill replied in answer to yet another question about whether he could play 007, per The A.V. Club. "All I have to go off of is the rumors. I have the same information you have. Maybe I’m too old now or maybe I’m not. We’ll see what the [producers’] plans are.”

Would that there were a fleet of Henrys Cavill, so that every role in every movie and TV show could be filled by him.
