Interview With The Vampire is coming to Netflix in August and you all should watch it

13 shows from AMC, including Interview With The Vampire and a couple of Walking Dead spinoffs, are coming to Netflix, hopefully increasing their reach.

The streaming business is a funny thing. On the one hand, big players are still finding it hard to actually make money; just today, Warner Bros. Discovery started a new round of layoffs. On the other hand, streaming is bigger than ever. According to new data from Nielsen, streaming represented 40.3% of TV viewing for the month of June 2024, higher than ever before. In fact, no single method of TV viewing had ever gone above 40.1% before, so this is a historic first. (If you're wondering, cable took 27.2%, traditional broadcast had 20.5%, and 12% was "other" forms of watching TV like unmeasured video on demand.)

Streaming reached this peak with the help of Netflix, which had two shows in the top 10 for the month: Bridgerton, with 9.3 billion minutes watched; and Your Honor, with 7.5 billion minutes. (For Game of Thrones fans, prequel series House of the Dragon was streamed for 3.4 billion minutes, not counting linear viewing on HBO.)

So maybe the takeaway is that it pays to be on Netflix. That's good news for 13 AMC series that will be available to watch on the streamer come August 19. Check out the list:

  • A Discovery of Witches
  • Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire season 1
  • Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches
  • Dark Winds
  • Fear the Walking Dead
  • Gangs of London
  • Into the Badlands
  • Kevin can F*** Himself
  • Monsieur Spade
  • Preacher
  • That Dirty Black Bag
  • The Terror season 1
  • The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon

The crown jewel in that list is probably Interview With The Vampire, AMC's thriling adaptation of Anne Rice's 1976 novel. I've been lapping out the baroque vampire drama for a while now, and am only sad that Netflix users won't get to watch both seasons already released. Maybe after the first they'll consider subscribing to AMC+; the show is that good.

A third season of Interview With The Vampire is confirmed to be on the way. If you want an idea of what you're missing, check out our reviews:

dark. Next. I certainly hope this isn't "The End of It" for Interview With The Vampire. I certainly hope this isn't "The End of It" for Interview With The Vampire
