Invincible season 3 likely to air "early next year," says star

Amazon Prime Video's Invincible, which adapts the graphic novels written by The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman, is one of the finest superhero shows in the world right now. At a time when superhero stories are dominated by Marvel and DC, this is a big feat indeed.
Invincible aired the final four episodes of its second season in March, and now we're back in the long and tedious wait for more installments. Thankfully, due to a more streamlined production and (hopefully) fewer delays, the wait for season 3 won't be as long as the one for season 2, which had to deal with the pandemic as well as the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.
We know that season 3 isn't coming anytime soon — animation takes time — but early next year seems like a fair estimate. This is backed up by voice actor Ross Marquand, who voices Rudy, the Immortal, and several others.
"Invincible Season 3, we're almost wrapped on that," he said at Galaxy Con. "I don't want to speak because Robert would be like, 'Don't tell people anything because we don't know.' But I have a feeling it's probably going to be early next year."
Moreover, Ryan Ottey, the artist behind the comic, previously teased in his Instagram comments that it'd be "just one" year's wait for the next batch of episodes. Sure, Prime Video won't give us a release window, but all signs point towards early 2025.
Invincible season 2 set the stakes higher than ever. After being given the task of priming Earth for Viltrumite takeover, Mark is forced to come up with a defence strategy. Meanwhile, looking ahead to season 3, the threat of Angstrom Levy still looms over him; Levy has escaped death once before, who's to say he can't do it again?
Seasons 1 and 2 of Invincible are now streaming on Prime Video.
