Invincible voice actor Fred Tatasciore, who plays Atom Eve's father and Killcannon, promises a much darker third season.

Prime Video's Invincible wrapped up its fantastic sophomore season earlier this year, and now fans are once again in the long and tedious wait for more episodes. Thankfully, due to a more streamlined production, we shouldn't be stuck twiddling our thumbs for too long; the new season is expected to air sometime in 2025.

But don't take these release estimates from me. Actor Ross Marquand has previously hinted at a potential early 2025 premiere: "I have a feeling it’s probably gonna be early next year," he said at GalaxyCon. And most recently, Fred Tatasciore, revealed that the wait will be significantly shorter than what fans have already endured. "You won't have to wait too long. You will not have to wait too long... I just don't have a date for you," he told The Direct.

Release date estimates aside, Tatasciore went on to tease what's in store for season 3. In the season 2 finale, the war against the Viltrumites hits a tipping point. Omni-Man has defected from his people, and Mark Grayson is left on Earth to prime the planet for Vultruimite takeover; a task he's not taking on. In season 3, expect things to boil over, resulting in the show's darkest season yet. "It gets really dark," Tatasciore teased, "you'll see everybody develop further as human beings."

Additionally, he explained that the season will dive into characters on a human level, not as superheroes. "I will say what you will see is, well, the characters really coming into their own. I mean, really, that's kind of what you were hoping for and what you'd expect. It gets really dark. You'll see [Eve] develop, and you'll see everybody develop further as human beings. I guess I should say, not just as superheroes, but what it is to just be a human in that world. Do you know what I mean? That's gonna be a big [part of it]."

While his answer is quite vague, those Prime Video NDA's don't allow him to reveal much more. "There's so much I want to share with you, but I gotta be careful."

Seasons 1 and 2 of Invincible are now streaming on Prime Video. There's also a lesser talked-about Atom Eve Special episode, featuring Fred Tatasciore as Eve's father. Go check it out!
