After years of waiting, Invincible season 2 has been and gone, and fans are already desperate for more. Thankfully, the team is already teasing what comes next. For instance, have you noticed that the opening title card of every episode has changed a bit, going from a black background to a blue one over the course of the season?

Fans of the comics are very aware that Mark eventually gets a new super-suit later in the story. While its functionality remains the same, tailor Art Rosenbaum decides to do away with the bright yellow outfit and adopt a much darker blue-and-black color scheme. The change doesn't really have much of a meaning; it's simply the next generation of Invincible's costume. Even so, fans are excited to see how it looks in the TV show. That's the point of the way the titles cards have been changing.

Invincible season 3 doesn't have a release date yet, though creator Robert Kirkman has previously said that the wait won't be anywhere near as long as what we've already endured now that the production has been streamlined. Kirkman is doing his best to hype up what's to come.

Robert Kirkman: Every episode of Invincible season 3 "feels like a finale"

Invincible isn't short on villains. In season 2, Mark had to face off against foes from Earth, planets beyond Earth, and the multiverse. Going into season 3, the Viltrumite Empire still looms large. Villains like this will fuel the chaos of season 3.

"I think that there’s so many pieces that have been put in place in Season 2 that we’re going to build on in Season 3 and so many different ways that we’re going to expand the show and push the show even further," Kirkman told GamesRadar+. "You’ve got some new cast members, new stories. We go [to] some crazy places. But we pick up everything that we left hanging in season two. All the emotional stories that you liked in Season 1 and Season 2 are continuing. We want every [Season 3] episode to feel like it’s a finale."

The boundary-pushing season will leave Mark and others in unexpected situations. And it sounds like Kirkman already has season 4 and beyond all planned out too. "Season 3 is an absolutely huge season with so many crazy things that you won’t expect," Kirkman said. "And where we leave things at the end of Season 3…Oh my god, I cannot wait for people to see that stuff."

If anyone can build up hype brilliantly, it's Robert Kirkman. He's done it with The Walking Dead for years. If Invincible continues the masterfully adapt the comics, we're in for a real treat!
