It's okay, everyone: Peter Dinklage from Game of Thrones is a Taylor Swift fan

Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage has gotten a crash course in Taylor Swift thanks to his kids. "I love their music, I really do, and I listen to it all the time, you gotta love it."

I doubt you need me to tell you that Taylor Swift is a big deal right now. The pop star is selling out stadiums and boosting the economies of countries around the world. Her fans are famously loyal, to the point where they'll love you if you publicly say you like her and her music. And if say you don't...well, tread lightly.

Peter Dinklage, who played Tyrion Lannister for all eight seasons on Game of Thrones, is on their good side. "Taylor Swift, I can tell you anything about Taylor Swift, 'cause I'm in it, I'm in it deep," he said on a recent episode of the podcast Andrew Schulz's Flagrant with Akaash Singh. "Culturally, Taylor Swift is huge, she's everywhere. I think she's fantastic."

Dinklage didn't stumble upon Swift himself, but was exposed by his kids, who are around 13 and 7 years old. As a Gen X-er, he's also interested in exposing them to the music he was listening to when he was their age. "But I also go, what about Nirvana? What about The Beatles? What about this? What about that? But it's like, Taylor all the way."

""And my son loves Nirvana. I'm like, thank God, and we blast Nirvana in the car when we're together. And I think it's like: oh my God, it's what people were like with like, The Beatles; the old parents were like, 'what is that stuff'?""

So maybe Dinklage has some mixed opinions on Swift and what her immense popularity says about his life, but it does sound like he enjoys her work. "But she's really something," he continued. "Pop music can be a little bit bubblegum, but they've put some real genius behind it, which is smart. I love their music, I really do, and I listen to it all the time, you gotta love it."

In turn, the Swifties have embraced Dinklage, ensuring he'll still get to be part of society when they conquer the planet:

Elsewhere, Peter Dinklage is standing by the controversial finale to Game of Thrones as he promotes his new western The Thicket, which is out in theaters now! As for what Taylor Swift is up to, you can probably loiter on any given street corner and hear news of her from some passerby sooner or later.

Interestingly, Taylor Swift already repaid Dinklage his praise, in a way, by being a huge Game of Thrones fan herself; back when the show was at its height, she openly talked about how it inspired several of her songs, and even how it shaped her artistic process in general. “My entire outlook on storytelling has been shaped by [Thrones] — the ability to foreshadow stories, to meticulously craft cryptic story lines,” she said. “So, I found ways to get more cryptic with information and still be able to share messages with the fans. I aspire to be one one-millionth of the kind of hint dropper the makers of Game of Thrones have been.”

Swift is famous for including clues and references in her songs, which her fans absolutely eat up. Wait, do we have Game of Thrones to thank for the current Swift renaissance?
