Joseph Quinn teases possible Eddie Munson return in Stranger Things
By Ashley Hurst
Joseph Quinn's Eddie Munson, the cool leader of the Hellfire Club, became an instant fan-favorite in the fourth season of Stranger Things. A rockstar addition to the cast, he won all our hearts, but was ultimately killed by the denizens of the Upside Down after an epic showdown to the tune of Metallica's "Master of Puppets."
The theories surrounding Munson's proposed return are plentiful. It's not like the show hasn't brought back 'dead' characters before; look no further than Hopper's return in season 4. Even though he's not confirmed to return, Quinn definitely wants to be around the set, and says "chances are high" that he'll show up for the final farewell. "I love those guys! I'd love to say hello," he told ET. However, this isn't to say that he'll show up on screen.
Right now, he's sending out his support for the cast hard at work delivering an epic endgame worthy of wrapping up an almost decade-long saga.
""I'm sure they're working very hard to land the plane. It's been a long time that they've been working on that, so I'm really delighted that they're kind of getting towards the end, and they're having a nice time.""
When asked about whether he thinks Munson will make a triumphant return, Quinn shares the same expectation as the fans. "I might have that feeling too." That said, however, he added a caveat. "Or maybe I don't. I don't know! Who knows?"
Only creators Matt and Ross Duffer know for sure what's going to happen. And Quinn knows too, but he's playing with us. I've seen enough quotes like this from actors in similar situations to believe that yes, I'd imagine he'll at least appear in the final season. We won't know until the final season premieres, most likely sometime in 2025. Netflix has not set a release date yet.
Stranger Things season 5 will have "very long" episodes
When that season finally does come, star Maya Hawke (Robin) is promising that the episodes — however many ther end up being — will be extra long. “We’re making, basically, eight movies,” she said on an episode of Podcrushed. Seeing as season 4 had a two-and-a-half-hour long finale, fans probably won't be surprised to hear that season 5 episodes will be "very long."
“We’re making, basically, eight movies,” Hawke explained before adding that the final season’s episodes are “very long.” This may not come as a big surprise, as season 4 contained huge episodes, including the insanely long two and a half hour finale. Speaking further, the actress spoke highly of the Duffer Brothers and why their process takes so long.
“Our showrunners, Matt and Ross, take a lot of responsibility," Hawke continued. "They have an amazing team of writers, but they’re very involved. They write a lot and they are very intense and serious about the quality of the continued writing, and so it takes a long time to write each season, and a long time to shoot them.”
Fine, but the show better be amazing when it finally does arrive on Netflix.
