Mother of Game of Thrones star is on The Traitors, is "bonkers"
By Dan Selcke
The Traitors is a British game show -- based on the Dutch series De Verraders -- involving a bunch of strangers who stay with each other for several days in a bit castle. One group of people are "the Faithful" and another group "the Traitors." It's the job of the Traitors to pick off the Faithful one by one until only they remain, and it's the job of the Faithful guess at the Traitors identities and banish them from the castle. Last group standing gets a cash prize.
So it's basically the game "Mafia" but on TV and for money. There's also an American remake, also called The Traitors, on Peacock. Why are we writing about this? Because the second season of the show premiered the other night, and one of the contestants -- school teacher Diane -- happens to be the mother of an actor from Game of Thrones.
Specifically, she's the mother of Kerr Logan, who played Davos Seaworth's religiously minded son Matthos in the second season of the show. He wasn't around long; Matthos died during the Battle of the Blackwater when Tyrion Lannister sent out a boat laden with wildfire to explode Stannis Baratheon's fleet.
Taking to Twitter, Kerr Logan shared his feelings about his mother being on The Traitors. According to Radio Times, Diane had watched the show with her kids, who encouraged her to apply. But Logan didn't realize she was on this season until he watched the new episodes:
"She's bonkers. I'm scared." Is that the kind of thing you should write about your mother in public? I guess it depends on the family. "My mother is trending on twitter," he wrote later. "One of the more surreal nights of my life..."
Anyway, apparently Diane has been a hit, sniffing out one of the Traitors early on and earning praise from presenter Rylan Clark:
Since Game of Thrones, Kerr Logan has kept busy working on shows like C.B. Strike and The Killing Kind. As for The Traitors, the second season will continue to air on the BBC.
