The first season of House of the Dragon introduced us to a whole host of characters, some of whom got more attention than others. One of the background players was Mysaria, a prostitute and paramour of Daemon Targaryen's who rose in the world to become a powerful information broker residing in King's Landing. She's appeared in trailers for the upcoming second season, although she hasn't dominated them. Still, expect to see more of her when House of the Dragon returns.

I don't think Mysaria made a huge impression one way or the other in the first season of the show, but one complaint fans did level against her and actor Sonoya Mizuno was that the character's accent was very strange. Mysaria is from the Free City of Lys on Essos, and who are we to say how people talk over there? But it still confused some viewers:

I'm honestly not even sure how to go about describing Mysaria's accent. However you want to categorize it, apparently the accent will be toned down in the second season, at least according to a review of the first four episodes that appeared in TV Guide. Under reasons to like the new season, TV Guide, " Sonoya Mizuno isn't doing an inexplicable Jamaican anymore."

There are a lot of reviews for the second season out now, and several single out Mizuno as someone who gives a particularly strong performance, which is encouraging. We'll see what exactly Mizuno and the rest of the cast have in store for us when House of the Dragon season 2 premieres on HBO and Max on Sunday, June 16.
