Ncuti Gatwa has made it known he doesn't have plans to leave Doctor Who yet. During the London premiere of his upcoming new season, he spoke to RadioTimes.com about his commitment to the series and his overall excitement. "I’ll be around for a while. You’re not getting rid of me yet," he said.

Gatwa's introduction into the series was quite the whirlwind. He got to team up with David Tennant and Catherine Tate, reprising their roles as the Doctor and Donna Noble, for the show's 60th anniversary. It was quite an exciting moment for all the Whovians out there, and if you're like me and loved Gatwa, you'll be happy to know his second season is currently in production, and he's implying he's here to stay...at least for now. He and his companion Ruby Sunday (Millie Gibson) have already been a hoot to watch. In their upcoming first full season together, we'll see them meet space creatures, a villain named Maestro, a Recency-era character played by Jonathan Groff, and the Beatles.

Both Gatwa and Gibson shared their excitement for the Regency episode. "I think that regency themed episode is the moment for me!" Gibson said. Gatwa added: "'60s and regency were our favorite filming and watching them as well."

There were a lot of rumors circulating that Gibson might be leaving after this upcoming season, but showrunner Russell T Davies put those to rest during an interview with SFX Magazine, "[Gibson is] not leaving. Not at all. We were ordered for two years of a series off Disney, and we're delivering two years, and the Ruby Sunday story literally spans those two years."

In the meantime, sit back and relax and prepare for the May 11 premiere of Gatwa's first full season of Doctor Who! And because it's never too early to start looking forward to a grand Doctor Who finale, Davies promises that the final episode of this upcoming season is "literally, the biggest finale ever...There's some shots of that in the trailers coming up. Oh my god, you're gonna die."
