Star Wars: The Acolyte is about a Jedi master investigating a series of murders committed by his former apprentice. But what if there's...A TWIST?

In just a couple of weeks, Disney will debut its latest new Star Wars TV show: The Acolyte, set hundreds of years before even the prequel trilogy, when the Jedi are at the height of their power and all is well in the galaxy.

But of course you know that won't last. The plot revolves around a Jedi master named Sol (Lee Jung-jae) who investigates a series of crimes committed by Mae (Amandla Stenberg), his former apprentice. At one point in a recent TV spot, you can hear Mae pleading, "I didn't do it! Believe me!"

Except there's something off. Fans over at The Bespin Bulletin have noticed something strange about the subtitles for this video, which may point to a plot twist. Read no further if you wish to avoid SPOILERS!

So on YouTube, generally you can choose from a couple of different subtitling options for videos, including "English (United States)" and “English (Auto Generated)." In these Star Wars promo videos, if you choose the first option, it makes the subtitles include character names for whenever someone says something. But if you choose the auto-generated option, there are no characters names.

In the promo above, the "English (United States)" subtitles identity the person proclaiming innocence not as Mae but as "Osha." That's curious. Moreover, Gizmodo noticed that you're no longer allowed to select "English (United States)" in this promo; you can only get subtitles that don't include character names.

The theory is that "Osha" is the name of Mae's twin sister, and that one of them is indeed killing Jedi and the other is innocent. One sister embraced the dark side of the Force and the other the light. If true, that would be quite the soap operatic twist. "It's not me, it's my twin you want," is a classic. We'll find out more when Star Wars: The Acolyte premieres on Thursday, June 4.

Advance look at the cast of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, thanks to merch

After The Acolyte wraps up its first season, we'll get another Star Wars TV show: Skeleton Crew, about a group of kids who find themselves in control of a spaceship they must learn how to pilot so they can get home, with some help from a Jedi character played by Jude Law. It's kind of a The Goonies/Stranger Things meets Star Wars situation.

Details about Skeleton Crew remain scarce, although there is already merch out there to preorder, including an ingot that includes an engraving of the characters. The ingot is available through Fanattik. Initially, you could see pictures of the product, including the engraving and a shot of the four kids at the center of the story. These images were quickly taken down, but they're out there on the internet for all to see. Click here to see the cast of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.

There's no firm release date for Skeleton Crew as of yet, but it's expected to come out something later this year.
