Take the Black: Debating House of the Dragon Episode 202, "Rhaenyra the Cruel"
By Dan Selcke
Every Sunday, we at WinterIsComing.net gather to recap, review and debate the latest episode of House of the Dragon. What were the highlights? The lowlights? The MVP? Who's the most messed-up character, and why does that make us love them more? The latest episode, "Rhaenyra the Cruel," gave us a lot to work with:
Overall, we really liked this episode, but there's plenty to debate and discuss. We all have different favorite characters (Aegon, Otto and Rhaenyra, but who chose who?). We question wheather Rhaenyra is on the right path, whether the show wrung everything it could from the fight between Arryk and Erryk Cargyll, and we even disagree a bit on Criston Cole. I mean, we all think he sucks, but does he at least suck in an entertaining way? How did this episode fare as an adaptation of George R.R. Martin's book Fire & Blood? We talk about all that and more!
