Take the Black: The Boys vs The Acolyte vs House of the Dragon — Who will win June?

Tom Bombadil is in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. Furiosa is bombing despite being delightful. George R.R. Martin talks smack on bad book adaptations. Lots to talk about:

The big studios are going to battle this June. We have new seasons of The Boys and House of the Dragon on the way, as well as the debut of Star Wars: The Acolyte. Which will win the love and adulation of the masses? Or which will come in second after House of the Dragon wins?

That's one of the philosophical questions we ponder on this new episodes of Take the Black, our weekly pop culture chat show. We also dig into Game of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin's thoughts about crappy book adaptations, the inclusion of The Lord of the Rings black sheep character Tom Bombadil in the upcoming season of The Rings of Power, and more. Watch below!

We also talk a bit about Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, which is having a rough time at the box office despite being a grand old time at the movies. And of course we run through the WiC News Lightning Round, where we give our 20-second takes on every news item we couldn't get to in the main body of the show.

The Take the Black Podcast is on iTunes and YouTube Music! Please subscribe and download from there if you can. Also, you can help us out by giving us a five-star rating and leaving a friendly comment! We’re also now on Spreaker, so try us there, as well.

We stream new episodes of Take the Black every Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. CST on the WinterIsComing YouTube and Facebook pages. Join the discussion!
