The Boys star Antony Starr thinks Homelander would "kick Superman's ass"

The Boys star Jack Quaid has previously said that he thinks Superman would defeat Homelander. Now Antony Starr has come out to defend his character!

The Boys star Antony Starr thinks his sadistic, Superman-esque villain Homelander would get the better of classic DC hero Superman in a brawl. They have similar powers, but Homelander has one thing Superman doesn't: a lack of empathy.

The 'Evil Superman' character is all the rage nowadays, whether its Omni-Man from Invincible or Homelander from The Boys. Both characters have Superman's powers of flight, super-strength and laser eyes. And if you pit Homelander and Superman against up each other, Starr has no doubts that his character would come out on top.

A while back, The Boys star Jack Quaid (Hughie) said he thought it would be the other way around. Speaking to Screen Rant, Antony Starr set the record straight:

"Here's why Homelander would kick Superman's ass. There's no Kryptonite factor, and Homie would fight so dirty. He's the [type to go], "Oh, you got me!" as he goes down and then comes up and throws sand in your eyes. He's the dirty dude, man. Whereas Superman is always like, "Oh, I wouldn't do that. Oh, there's innocent children that might get hurt." Homie's going to human shield himself with the kids."

Whilst I agree that Homelander would win the battle, I can't shake the feeling that Superman would win the war. No one has plot armour like Superman, and the good guys always come out on top.

The Boys season 5 is already in the works!

The Boys is showing no signs of slowing down. In fact, Prime Video is investing in the franchise more than ever with spinoff shows like Gen V. Ahead of the season 4 premiere in June, showrunner Eric Kripke is already looking to the future.

Speaking to Screen Rant, Kripke explained that the writer's room for season 5 is already humming. " I mean, we're about a month into the writers' room right now, so we have some pretty cool notions," he said. "It's a very raw lava-esque deal right now. It hasn't hardened into anything, but I'm excited. I think there's some crazy sh-t's been talked about, that's for sure."

But let's not get too far ahead of ourselves. The Boys season 4 premieres June 13 on Prime Video, with the first three episodes dropping all at once!
