The Dragonseeds arrive in trailer for penultimate episode of House of the Dragon season 2

Smallfolk riding dragons? It's just crazy enough to work! Rhaenyra puts out the call in the next episode of House of the Dragon, although she clearly has misgivings about it:

The most recent episode of House of the Dragon ended with Addam of Hull, an unassuming shipwright from the isle of Driftmark, claiming a Targaryen dragon, or at least that's what we're led to believe. The trailer for the new episode confirms it. Rhaenyra Targaryen confronts Addam, and she's clearly agitated. "What do you want?" she demands.

Readers of George R.R. Martin's book Fire & Blood know that Addam is one of several dragonseeds, peasants who manage to ride the dragons despite not being of noble birth; rather, thery're bastards with Valrian blood. It looks like both Rhaenyra and her son Jace are a little perturbed that these non-specials are joining their dragon-riding club. But without them, Rhaenyra's efforts to take the Iron Throne back from her half-brother King Aegon Targaryen stand little chance of succeeding. Watch the trailer above!

We also catch glimpses of Alicent somewhere in the countryside, contemplating her terrible life choices like usual. Daemon Targaryen's subplot at Harrenahl crawls forward, and in King's Landing, Aemond Targaryen and his small council hear about developments in the reach involving Alicent's son Daeron Targaryen, who we won't actually see this season but who is making big moves. It sounds like that part of the war will happen offscreen.

Rhaenyra ends the trailer with what sound like famous last words: "With these dragons, peace will be restored." Oh yeah, I'm sure the dragons will help bring about peace. They had a really calming effect the last time they were front and center.

This is the second-to-last episode of House of the Dragon season 2. It's almost over. Episode 207, airs Sunday night, July 28 on HBO and Max.
