The Walking Dead is over. Long live The Walking Dead. The zombie franchise has continued in the form of spinoffs and expansions, one of which takes fan favorite character Daryl Dixon to the shores of sunny, rotting, fetid France. The first season debuted last year to pretty good reviews. Now the second season is on its way. Will lightning strike twice in the French countryside? Will it hit a zombie? Because that would be helpful.
Early buzz is good, and the show is upping the ante by bringing Daryl's longtime bestie Carol (Melissa McBride) into the mix. Carol showed up at the end of the first season but will play a much bigger role this time around.
The fun kicks off a couple Sundays from now. Here's the complete release schedule for all six episodes:
- Episode 201: "La gentillesse des étrangers" — Sunday, September 29, 2024
- Episode 202: "Moulin Rouge" — Sunday, October 6, 2024
- Episode 203: "L'Invisible" — Sunday, October 13, 2024
- Episode 204: "La Paradis Pour Toi" — Sunday, October 20, 2024
- Episode 205: "Vouloir, C'est Pouvoir" — Sunday, October 27, 2024
- Episode 206: "Au Revoir Les Enfants" — Sunday, November 3, 2024
Yes, there are only six episodes this season. But on the other hand, a far cry from the 16+ fans used to get out of the main show every season. But on the plus side, at least a new season of the show comes out every year, which is becoming more and more rare for big series like these nowadays. And when Daryl Dixon isn't on, fans have had other Walking Dead spinoffs to entertain them, like The Ones Who Live and Dead City, which is returning for a second season next year.
There's also a third season of Daryl Dixon in the works. This one will take the gang to Spain. Before his series is over, Daryl can tour the whole of Europe, killing freaky variant zombies near important historical landmarks until the franchise finally runs out of steam.
