The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live creator wants an OG cast reunion

That includes Rick, Michonne, Daryl, and Maggie! We would love that, wouldn't we?

The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live is just days away from premiering its very first episode, and the world cannot wait! We have waited a very long time to learn about what happened to Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) after he left The Walking Dead.

In fact, there was supposed to be a movie that never came to fruition, and then we had to wait to find out that AMC is actually doing a series instead to close out the story of Rick and Michonne (Danai Gurira). It has been a long time coming, and it is about dang time!

The co-creator of The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, Scott M. Gimple, spoke about the upcoming spin-off, specifically the possibility of a reunion between Rick, Michonne, Daryl (Norman Reedus), and Maggie (Lauren Cohan). We all need it, want it, and honestly, demand it! Give the people what they are asking for!

At the show's premiere at the Los Angeles' Linwood Dunn Theater, Gimple shared his thoughts on a potential reunion, according to Variety. Spoiler alert: He definitely wants it.

Will there be a reunion with Rick, Michonne, Daryl, and Maggie? We sure hope so!

“There are so many things with this universe that I plan and put together, but I also know that God laughs, and you have to pivot to something else,” Gimple said on the red carpet. “I absolutely have been working towards that and hoping towards that, but we’ll see what happens. It might be a version of it that no one expects.”

Working towards it? Gimple, you are our hero.

As a long-time Walking Dead fan, I would love to see a reunion, especially because it has been literal years since all of them have been onscreen together. Fans have been waiting for so long just to see Rick again, so the him sharing a scene with Michonne, Maggie and Daryl would be absolutely amazing.

What is The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live about?

The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live is the sixth spin-off from the original series. It will pick up right after the events of The Walking Dead season 9, when Rick is carried away by the Civic Republic Military in a helicopter, although his friends believe him to be dead. He was sort of indirectly mentioned during The Walking Dead: World Beyond, but we never did see him...until now.

Michonne left The Walking Dead during season 10 in pursuit of Rick, and it looks like she finally finds him. Will Rick still be the same man we last saw? Is he evil now? Does he still love Michonne? Why didn't he come back home?

There are so many questions left unanswered, and I can only hope that the series will address it all upon its turn on February 25 on AMC and AMC+. Don't miss it ya'll!
