It's always awards season somewhere. A couple days ago, the TV Choice Awards revealed the nominees for the 2025 ceremony, to be held at The Hilton on Park Lane on February 10, 2025 in London, England. One of the unique things about this particular ceremony is that they let the ordinary public vote. What's more, just by voting, you can get entered into a contest where you could get chosen to attend the ceremony, where you'll enjoy a three-course meal and pal around with whatever stars show up. There are 21 categories to vote on in all. What's the downside?

This particular awards show seems to be focused on shows and actors from the United Kingdom, which makes sense given that the ceremony is in London. For fans of House of the Dragon, there are a few chances to boost your favorite Game of Thrones prequel show. House of the Dragon itself is nominated for "Best Drama Series," while cast members Matt Smith (Daemon Targaryen) and Olivia Cooke (Alicent Hightower) are both nominated for "Best Drama Performance." Only you can get them over the finish line!

All votes must be in by midday on Tuesday, October 15. It's a pretty quick process if you're interested. I hadn't heard of the TV Choice Awards before, and I don't think they're especially prestigious; for that, you probably want to look out for whenever they announce the nominations for the 2025 Emmy Awards. But I like that they're making voting available to the public. And any chance to get some awards recognition for House of the Dragon is welcome.

House of the Dragon wrapped up its second season in August. We'll probably be waiting until 2026 before the third season, which is already in process, graces out screens. In the meantime, another Game of Thrones prequel show called A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will premiere on HBO and Max in 2025.
