Christmas is coming early for Spartacus fans! STARZ’s highly anticipated next chapter of the Spartacus franchise will debut this December with Spartacus: House of Ashur kicking off its season on Friday, December 5 – but wait, that’s not even the best of this news!

Spartacus: House of Ashur fans will be able to enjoy the show’s first two episodes on December 5 with a special 2-episode premiere event planned for the premiere. Fans can enjoy back-to-back episodes when the show lands on the STARZ App as well as on all STARZ streaming and on-demand platforms. New episodes will then release weekly on Fridays, giving fans a thrilling new series to enjoy Friday nights starting this December.

Spartacus: House of Ashur promises to be a thrilling new chapter in the Spartacus franchise building upon its unforgettable predecessor through a history-bending story. The new series asks the question what if Ashur had lived and was rewarded his treachery with the gladiator school where he once bled. This leads us into the world of House of Ashur, where Ashur has managed to rise to power.

As the synopsis teases, “ruling a band of merciless gladiators is child's play compared to surviving the savage world of Roman politics — a cutthroat game in which betrayal isn’t a sin, it’s currency. He flips tradition on its head by unleashing Achillia, a fierce and powerful gladiatrix eager to prove herself worthy in a man’s world. Together, they ignite a new kind of spectacle that shocks, disrupts and offends the elite with every drop of blood.”

In addition to gifting fans with an official release date, STARZ also released a new gallery of images which offer up exciting new looks at the stunning new series and its incredible cast.

The new images give us a look at the incredible cast STARZ has assembled including Nick E. Tarabay reprising his role as Ashur, Graham McTavish (Korris), Tenika Davis (Achillia) and Jordi Webber (Tarchon) along with an extended cast of gladiators, nobility, villains, champions and backstabbers all eager to get ahead in the cutthroat world of Ancient Rome.

The photos give us a glimpse into the world of House of Ashur teasing several intense moments between the show's core cast -- and yes, a few new bombshells have entered the Gladiator arena and are sure to turn heads when the show kicks off this December. We're particularly interested to learn more about these new gladiators who definitely capture our attention with the first photos in which the tension comes pouring through leaving us eager to see the dynamics unfold on-screen.
