Squid Game is the most popular original TV show in the history of Netflix, which is saying something. Maybe it's the fact that the first season of the series came out when a lot of pandemic measures were still in effect and everyone was at home looking for something to watch. Maybe the way the show explored the cavernous class divide between the halves and the halve-nots resonated with people. Maybe it's that the show is just really good. Whatever the reason, people couldn't get enough of this Korean-language action-drama, and now it's finally coming back.
When last we left off, Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) had won the Squid Games by the skin of his teeth and walked away with tens of millions of dollars, enough to retire comfortably. But he couldn't get over the guilt and horror of having won the money by outlasting hundreds of other contestants who had died along the way. The shady billionaires who run the Squid Games prey on the poor and desperate, making them compete to the death for their amusement. Gi-hun was determined to expose them.
The second season will run for seven episodes, all of which will drop at once on December 26 at midnight, PST time. So if you're up late on Christmas evening, you could cap off the holiday by watching people die by the dozens playing red light, green light. Here's the complete episode release list, complete with all the episode titles we know, which so far is one:

A third and final season of Squid Game will air sometime next year, so we won't have to wait nearly as long to see the third season as we did for the second. That also tells us that season 2 will likely end on a cliffhanger, or at least unresolved.
