Hello there? Ewan McGregor may reprise his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the second season of Star Wars: Ahsoka, if rumors are to be believed.
According to a source from Star Wars News Net, McGregor/Kenobi will appear alongside Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker and Ariana Greenblatt as a young Ahsoka Tano in the upcoming sophomore season of the Disney+ series. The scenes are said to be flashbacks to the Clone Wars, when the three Jedi battled the separatist movement in between the events of the prequel films Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. Anakin's role in season 2 is said to be even more prominent than his memorable appearances in the first season.
The flashbacks could reference events or storylines featured from the animated Clone Wars series, which some fans have suggested deserves a live-action show of its own. Although no plans for that have been announced, scenes with Anakin, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Ahsoka Tano reunited could drum up enthusiasm for more Clone Wars content.
The Mandalorian & Grogu villain revealed?
The source also shed some light on plot details for the upcoming Mandalorian & Grogu movie. Allegedly, the story revolves around an attempt by the titular characters to rescue Rotta the Hutt (Jeremy Allen White), who has been kidnapped by Embo, the Kyuzo bounty hunter from Clone Wars. Dave Filoni, the film's co-writer, voiced the character in the animated series and is apparently set to do so again in The Mandalorian & Grogu.
Other characters expected to appear in the film include the leader of a faction of Galactic Empire remnants (played by Jonny Coyne), as well as Garazeb "Zeb" Orrelios (who was last seen in Stars Wars Rebels). Sigourney Weaver is also set to appear in a mystery role.
For now, Star Wars fans will have to wait until next year to see for themselves whether or not the rumors are true. Ahsoka's second season is scheduled to begin filming later this year, while The Mandalorian & Grogu is currently scheduled for a May 22, 2026 release.
