We’ve officially reached the end of Stranger Things’ run on Netflix. The final episode of Netflix’s hit series dropped on December 31 both on Netflix and in select theaters across the country.

Fans anxiously counted down the minutes until the finale’s release wondering how the show would come to an end. If you’ve made it this far, you’re likely sitting in the theater or watching the finale from the comfort of your own home and wondering whether there are any post-credits scenes to enjoy after the final scene of the series.

While Stranger Things has not deployed the use of post-credits scenes frequently over the years, the Duffer Brothers have included them before, most notably in the season 3 finale.

After the final scene of the season, the credits began rolling but were interrupted mid-credits for a special bonus scene set in Russia. The clip was used to hint that Hopper was alive with mention of “the American” and the reveal that the Russians had captured a Demogorgon.

Did the Duffer Brothers sneak in some bonus content at the end of the finale to either give fans an additional moment with a character or two, or to hint at the spinoff that’s officially in the works?

Don’t worry, no spoilers here, as we realize some of you are likely reading ahead in preparation to know whether you can leave the theater when the credits begin. What we can do is give you a quick answer regarding whether there is a post-credits scene to enjoy.

There are no post-credits scenes after the Stranger Things 5 finale

Sadly, there is no post-credits scene to enjoy after the closing scene of the Stranger Things series finale. Once that final scene cuts to black, the credits roll without any interruption.

This means you’re safe to leave the theater once the credits begin to roll, or to exit the Netflix app from your smart devices at home. Of course, you can stick around to watch the credits roll as it’s a great way to celebrate the many individuals whose hard work went into crafting the series finale and a major reminder of how much work goes into creating the show. For the finale, the show also put together a fun credits sequence before the more standard credits roll.

While we’d have loved a post-credits scene of some kind, one wasn’t really needed here given the ending of the episode. Still, it would have been fun to get some sort of bonus content such as a gag reel or a reel looking back on behind-the-scenes moments from the show.

Perhaps the show will release some behind-the-scenes bonus content in the weeks ahead. I don't know about you, but I would certainly welcome any never-before-scene content to keep the show alive for just a little while longer.
