Stranger Things season 5's release may still be months away, but there’s plenty to keep us entertained until then. Fortunately, the amazingly talented cast had been busy with projects beyond the hit sci-fi series, and many of them have already been released. One of those projects comes from Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard. It's the comedy horror flick Hell of a Summer, and it's about to make its streaming debut very soon.

Hulu recently shared its list of shows and movies coming to its platform in August, and Hell of a Summer was included in the lineup. We knew that the horror film would eventually stream on Hulu because it's a Neon movie.

Hulu and Neon have a multi-year output deal that gives Hulu exclusive streaming rights to Neon films after their theatrical run. However, we just didn't know when exactly the horror movie would become available on the streaming platform. Now the streaming release date has been revealed, and you won’t have to wait long at all!

Make sure to mark your calendar for Friday, Aug. 29, 2025, because that's the exact date when Hell of a Summer will slash its way onto Hulu for its streaming debut. A Friday release is perfect because then you can kick off your weekend with a bloody good time by watching this over-the-top horror flick from the comfort of your couch. Given that it's a licensed film, it won't remain on Hulu forever. So it's important to watch it as soon as possible.

Hell of a Summer was written, directed, and produced by Wolfhard and Billy Bryk. It'll remind you of the iconic slasher franchise Friday the 13th in that it takes place at a summer camp where a masked killer lurks. But instead of the killer wearing a hockey mask like Jason Voorhees in Friday the 13th, the killer in Hell of a Summer sports a creepy devil's mask.

However, the plot is similar in that it follows a bunch of camp counselors who find themselves being stalked and picked off one by one, forcing them to confront the terrifying presence on the campgrounds while trying to survive the night. Besides being behind the film, Wolfhard and Bryk also star as Chris and Bobby. The rest of the cast is made up of Fred Hechinger, Abby Quinn, D'Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, Pardis Saremi, Rosebud Baker, Adam Pally, and others.

Below, we shared the thrilling yet hilariously funny trailer for Hell of a Summer.

If you find yourself having a hard time waiting for the movie's streaming release, you currently have the option to rent or purchase it on digital platforms such as Prime Video, Google Play, Fandango at Home, and Apple TV. That's the only way you can watch Hell of a Summer at the moment. But come Aug. 29, you'll be able to stream it directly on Hulu!
