Fans of Tahereh Mafi's bestselling Woven Kingdom series will have to wait longer than expected for the epic conclusion in book 5. The author announced this week via Instagram that the last installment in the series has been delayed from its originally scheduled Fall 2026 release to Spring 2027, pushing the finale back by several months.

The delay comes as Mafi juggles multiple major projects including her new Watch Me series (a Shatter Me spinoff) and the recent release of book 4 in the Woven Kingdom saga, Every Spiral of Fate, which hit shelves in September 2025.

In an Instagram story posted last week, Mafi addressed the numerous questions she's been receiving about the final installment, affectionately referred to as TWK5 by fans. The author explained her decision in the text story:

"You might've seen me mention a few months ago that i'd be taking a little more time with this book. I also wanted extra room in the pub schedule so that i'd be able to give this book a proper send-off into the world. We're planning for a really fun book launch."

She continued: "Rest assured the manuscript is alive and with me. i love these books. i'm so grateful this story has found its readers."

The new timeline for book 5 in This Woven Kingdom series

Most significantly, Mafi revealed the updated publication schedule, stating that, "at the moment book 5 is slated for spring of next year. i should have a cover and title reveal for you in the next few months."

This is a delay from the original timeline. In an Instagram post from December 14, 2024, Mafi had laid out her publication schedule which included "FALL 2026: WK#5" alongside other releases like Watch Me in April 2025, Woven Kingdom #4 in Fall 2025 and Watch Me #2 in Spring 2026.

The Woven Kingdom series, inspired by Persian mythology, follows Alizeh, the long-lost heir to the Jinn throne who lives in disguise as a servant. The romantic fantasy saga centers on her complicated relationships with Prince Kamran of Ardunia and King Cyrus of Tulan, with themes of prophecy, political intrigue, secret identities and forbidden love.

The series to date includes This Woven Kingdom (February 2022), These Infinite Threads (February 2023), All This Twisted Glory (February 2024) and Every Spiral of Fate (September 2025).

Sequel to Tahereh Mafi's Watch Me hitting shelves next month

Mafi is currently committed to her Watch Me series, a spinoff of her wildly successful Shatter Me dystopian YA fantasy saga. Watch Me (released April 2025) introduced readers to James Anderson and Rosabelle Wolff 10 years after the original series concluded.

The second installment, Release Me, is scheduled for April 7, 2026, less than a month away. Mafi's December 14, 2024 Instagram post outlined her original publishing schedule: Watch Me in April 2025, Woven Kingdom #4 in Fall 2025, Watch Me #2 in Spring 2026, Woven Kingdom #5 in Fall 2026, Watch Me #3 in Spring 2027, and Fall 2027 left open with question marks.

With Woven Kingdom #5 now moved to Spring 2027, the author appears to be prioritizing quality and a proper send-off for the beloved series over maintaining the originally planned timeline.
