Take the Black: Everything to watch and read in December, plus House of the Dragon news
By Dan Selcke
Every Wednesday we get together on the Take the Black podcast to break open the worlds of sci-fi, fantasy, movies, TV and books and bring out the sweet sweet sauce inside to pour into your waiting open mouths...
That sounded grosser than I thought it would. We're a couple of nerds who talk about nerdy things. This week, we bring you some new information about the upcoming third season of House of the Dragon, which sounds like it may feature the return of some old faces...or at least one. After that, we dig into the wealth of books, movies and TV shows coming your way in December. If you're a reader, you can't miss Wind and Truth, the next book in Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight Archive series. If you love TV, you've got the second season of Squid Game to look forward. And if you can't keep away from the movies, consider taking in some prestige horror with Nosferatu.
We talk about all that and more below! Check us out:
Even after all that, we have plenty of gas left in the tank. As we do every week, we talk about what we've been watching, which includes a lot of Daniel slobbering over the Netflix show Arcane and me trying to defend Dune: Prophecy that it's nothing more than a watered down Game of Thrones clone. And as always, we end things with a rapid-fire, no-holds-barred installment of the WiC News Lightning Round, where we blast through a battery of stories we couldn't get to in the main body of the show and give our 20-second takes.
