It's time for another episode of Take the Black, our weekly chat show where two editors named Dan discuss all the latest news from the worlds of sci-fi, fantasy, movies, books and more. Today's show takes us behind the scenes on some of the biggest fantasy TV shows of the moment, as well as inside our exclusive interview with author Brandon Sanderson. Check it out:
It's a busy time in Westeros: House of the Dragon is constructing massive sets for King's Landing and Tumbleton, one place you already know and another that will be very important in the upcoming third season. Members of the press are teasing what they saw of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms at Warner Bros. Discovery's Upfront presentation, and the saga of a stuntwoman who was injured on the Game of Thrones set reaches its conclusion. House of the Dragon isn't the only show building huge sets; HBO's new Harry Potter show is constructing Privet Drive from scratch. Is this good long-term planning or a total waste of resources? We discuss at length!
After that, we share some impressions from our interview with Brandon Sanderson, talking about the man himself as well as his expanding fictional universe, the Cosmere. Was Sanderson happy with the response to Wind and Truth, the new entry in his Stormlight Archive? What are his plans for the future of the Cosmere? We loved talking to him and can't wait to share!
Plus, we touch on all the shows we're watching this week, like The Last of Us, Murderbot, and The Studio. And of course, we can't end an episode of Take the Black without our world-famous Lightning Round, where we give our takes on all the news stories we didn't have time to get to in the main show in 20 seconds or less.
The Take the Black Podcast is on Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube Music! Please subscribe and download from there if you can. Also, you can help us out by giving us a five-star rating and leaving a friendly comment! We’re also now on Spreaker, so try us there, as well.
