In less than a week, HBO will premiere its new Game of Thrones spinoff A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. After that, House of the Dragon returns for its third season over the summer. It's going to be a very busy year in Westeros...and you know that here at Winter Is Coming, we're going to have a lot of opinions, breakdowns, and overall thoughts about it all.
Which means it's the perfect time to bring back our podcast, Take the Black! The pod has been on hiatus since last summer, gathering energy for its big return. Where did we go? What are we going to do now that it's coming back?

Take the Black premieres new episodes on Sundays, right after A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms airs
Yes, this year we're coming back not only to celebrate a bunch of new shows, but to do it with a new co-host beside! You'll learn more about that in our next video where we give him a proper introduction. Obviously we have to pour one out for former Winter Is Coming editor Dan Selcke, who is no longer at the site after many years serving as the driving force behind it and this podcast. We'll do our best to do him proud in the coming months.
And what will we be talking about? Well, first up, we'll be airing new episode of Take the Black right after A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms episodes drop on HBO and HBO Max. Keep an eye on the Winter Is Coming YouTube channel for them around 10:30 p.m. EST on Sundays for the next six weeks, matching up with the six episodes of the show's first season.
After that, we'll have more updates, but you can rest assured: Take the Black will not only be doing normal episodes, but also deep dives on specific topics and more. If there's something you want to hear discussed on the podcast, let us know in the comments!
For now, it's just good to be back. I've really missed chatting with you all through these videos, and am so excited to share this new journey ahead in the new year, where we'll be covering shows like A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, House of the Dragon, The Witcher season 5, and many more.
