Take the Black reviewapalooza: The Last of Us, The Wheel of Time and Andor

The Last of Us kicked in our teeth, The Wheel of Time crushed our souls, and Andor held a dark mirror up to our own world. We loved all of it.

It's time for Take the Black, the best time of the week! Each Wednesday, we get together to blah blah blah about all things sci-fi, fantasy, movies, books and TV, and then we record and release it for everyone to watch.

We're hitting three big topics this week. First up, The Last of Us aired a very big, very important new episode this past Sunday, and now nothing will be the same. Did they pull it off, or will people be just as mad as when this same thing happened in The Last of Us video games? Second, the third season of The Wheel of Time has wrapped up, and the reviews have been fabulous. But is that enough for convince Amazon and Sony to renew the show? Third, the second and final of Star Wars: Andor has premiered on Disney+. It's rock solid, but does it feel so different from the rest of the Star Wars that it might as well not even bear the name?

We dig into all that and more! Watch the newest episode of Take the Black below:

It's weird to tell you this after the fold, but we get into SPOILERS in this video, so beware. When it comes to The Wheel of Time, we discuss a bit about where the show could be going based on what comes next in the books.

We also run through an installment of the WiC News Lightning Round, where we blitz through a bunch of stories we didn't have time to get through in the main body of the show and give our 20-second opinions on them. For whatever reason, fully half of those stories are Star Wars-related this week.

The Take the Black Podcast is on iTunes and YouTube Music! Please subscribe and download from there if you can. Also, you can help us out by giving us a five-star rating and leaving a friendly comment! We’re also now on Spreaker, so try us there, as well.
