Every week, we here at WinterIsComing meet to discuss the latest goings-on in the worlds of sci-fi, fantasy, movies, books and TV, and every week, it results in a scintillating discussion with insights so piercing they may draw blood. That continues this week, as we check in on filming for House of the Dragon season 3, discuss the chances for The Wheel of Time to make a comeback, and more. Watch the newest episode below:
There isn't a ton to say about House of the Dragon; they're filming it, it's on the way, it's happening. As for The Wheel of Time, we still haven't gotten over Amazon's unjust cancellation of the show a few weeks back; the series was cut down in its prime and it's hard to get over that.
The fans are trying their damndest to find the show a new home, an effort we fully support; it's inspirational to watch how much they've done. But is this effort likely to work, and if not, does it matter? We get into questions about fans, fan movements and the ruthless state of the streaming wars, all while trying to pronounce the word "Sisyphean" correctly.
From there we move onto What Are We Watching, our weekly segment where we discuss what you'd think we discuss. Honestly, there isn't a ton of new TV to talk about at the moment; check back soon for thoughts on Squid Game, The Sandman, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Foundation and more. But we still get into a debate about Murderbot, Apple's charming new sci-fi comedy. How many raunchy robot sex jokes are too many raunchy robot sex jokes, or does the limit not exist?
