Between news about House of the Dragon, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, and a first-look at Brandon Sanderson's new Stormlight Archive book, we have our hands full this week.

Every week, two men named Dan get together on a podcast dedicated to talking about all things sci-fi, fantasy, movies, TV and books. It's Take the Black, and we had a whopper of a show this week. Not only was there was interesting new news coming out of Westeros, but our own Daniel Roman had an advance review of Wind and Truth, the fifth book in author Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight Archive series. These days, fantasy authors don't come much bigger than Brandon Sanderson and fantasy don't come much bigger than The Stormlight Archive, and we're happy and grateful to be able to share our impressions with you.

If you want to skip right to the Wind and Truth section of the show, scroll to around the 22-minute mark; the chapters are all labeled. Or if you want to hear us jaw about everything on our minds, let the show rip from the top:

Wind and Truth comes out on Friday, December 6, so pretty soon everyone will be able to enjoy the next leg in Sanderson's story. Beyond that, we also go over some interesting dispatches from Westeros, including a release window for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and some new information that sheds light on House of the Dragon season 2.

And of course, no episode of Take the Black would be complete without the WiC News Lightning Round, where we blast through a number of stories we didn't have to get to in the main body of the show, and the What Are We Watching? section, which is self-explanatory. On today's show: should we penalize Dune: Prophecy for not featuring fake accents? The answer might confuse you.

The Take the Black Podcast is on iTunes and YouTube Music! Please subscribe and download from there if you can. Also, you can help us out by giving us a five-star rating and leaving a friendly comment! We’re also now on Spreaker, so try us there, as well.

We steam new episodes of Take the Black every Wednesday on the WinterIsComing YouTube and Facebook pages at 2:00 p.m. CST. Next week we're actually off, but we've pre-recorded an episode we think will run at the same time that we think you'll really like, so still check back!
