Every week, we stream a new episode Take the Black, a live chat show where we discuss all things sci-fi, fantasy, movies, TV and books. And every week, the people who watch us and talk with us leave enlightened, refreshed, and at least 40 minutes younger. Don't you want that to be you? All you have to do is join us every Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. CST.
But for now, watching the archived episode will do. As ever, we have a lot go over, so don't wait another minute and get to watching!
On the agenda for this week:
- HBO is hard at work filming the third season of House of the Dragon. On-location filming is picking up, meaning we have all kinds of interesting images to look at.
- The Wheel of Time is still cancelled. Despite a herculean effort to save the show by fans, we may have entered the fading days. That said, the fans have been an inspiration, and the longer and harder we can shake our fists at Amazon for making such a silly decision, the better.
- A new season of The Witcher is coming, complete with a new actor playing Geralt of Rivia. How are they going to explain the switch from Henry Cavill to Liam Hemsworth?
Finally, we do something I've wanted to do for a while: talk about The Hedge Knight, George R.R. Martin's novella about a stalwart knight who tries to make it big in Westeros around 100 years before the events of Game of Thrones. HBO is adapting the book as a new TV show called A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, and if they adapt the source material faithfully, I think we'll be in for a delightful time.
The Take the Black Podcast is on iTunes and YouTube Music! Please subscribe and download from there if you can. Also, you can help us out by giving us a five-star rating and leaving a friendly comment! We’re also now on Spreaker, so try us there, as well.
We stream new episodes of Take the Black live every Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. on the WinterIsComing YouTube and Facebook pages! Join the discussion. Daniel Roman is taking a couple months off to attend to a family matter, by which I mean he's having a baby. But we'll keep rolling with guest hosts, so stick around!
