The Walking Dead returns to our screens in May for Dead City season 2, marking the return of Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and their adventures in zombie-ridden Manhattan. After a brilliant season 1, the new season will continue to expand its horizons, putting Negan back into a position of power in New York City. What could go wrong?
Dead City is pretty much The Walking Dead's equivalent of Escape From New York. In season 1, Maggie surprisingly recruited sworn enemy-turned-ally Negan to assist her in reclaiming her son Hershel, who was kidnapped and taken away to the heart of a community in Manhattan. The two worked together until the very last moment, when Negan found out the the entire scheme was an intricate plan to deliver Negan right into the hands of the Dama, the powerful leader of Manhattan's new civilization.
With Negan in her grasp, the Dama offers Negan an intriguing proposition: to take on a leading role in the community. Looking ahead to season 2, fans can expect him to return to a position of power. And he wields an all-new Lucille, having destroyed the other Lucille in a fire. See for yourself:

Watch a first-look scene from The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2!
AMC recently announced that Dead City premieres on May 4 (or Star Wars Day, as us geeks like to call it). Along with the announcement, they also shared an all-new scene from the upcoming season. The scene features a walker being converted into biofuel, a genius idea from Burazi leader the Croat.
The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2 will air on AMC and AMC+. Dead City season 2 is the first of two new Walking Dead seasons coming in 2025. Later this year, Norman Reedus and Melissa McBide will return in Daryl Dixon season 3, which takes place in Spain!
