The third season of The Wheel of Time ends tonight! The eighth and final episode will follow up on plot threads from throughout the season, including the bit in the sixth episode where the Forsaken sorcerer Sammael (Cameron Jack) attacked Rand al'Thor (Josha Stradowski) in the Aiel settlement of Cold Rocks Hold. He failed, and we haven't seen him since.
Sammael reappears in a new clip from the finale. Check it out below:

So Moiraine (Rosamund Pike) has been keeping Sammael prisoner since his attack on Rand. Sammael is still sore at Rand on account of Rand's past self, Lews Therin Telamon, giving him a nasty scar back during the Age of Legends. He wants to kill Rand, but Moiraine has another mission for him: teach Rand to use the One Power.
In The Wheel of Time, the One Power works differently for men and woman, and only another male channeler will truly be able to teach Rand what he needs to know. This seems to be a twist on a plot from The Wheel of Time books, where the Forsaken sorcerer Asmodean teaches Rand about channeling. It looks like Asmodean may be cut from the TV version of the story, so perhaps they'll sub in Sammael instead.
Sammael has his own storyline to follow in The Whele of Time books, and it's unclear how this twist will affect it. We'll find out more when the season 3 finale of The Wheel of Time airs tonight at 12:00 midnight PST on Amazon Prime Video! And that's not the only clip from the finale floating around:
