It's been nearly a month since the season 3 finale of The Wheel of Time aired on Prime Video, and much as we want it, we haven't heard anything about Amazon and Sony renewing the show for a fourth season, to say nothing about any seasons beyond that. This show is based on Robert Jordan's massive fantasy series, which runs for 14 books, and the fans behind the 'Renew WoT' campaign are pushing for the studio to "Finish the story."
Over 130,000 fans have signed a petition encouraging Amazon and Sony to do just that, quite a bit more than when I last checked. The stars have noticed. Rosamund Pike, who plays Aes Sedai sorceress Moiraine; and Josha Stradowski, who plays Rand al Thor, the Dragon Reborn himself, have shared the campaign on their Instagram Stories:

So will Amazon and Sony actually renew the show? I wouldn't blame fans if they're starting to feel dispirited. It's been over three weeks since the finale and we haven't heard anything. The actors are publicly advocating for the show to continue, which suggests it needs that kind of pressure. Even if The Wheel of Time is renewed, which is still very possible, it would take a while for the wheels to turn and for production to start up, which means we likely wouldn't be watching new episodes for a while yet.
But the show isn't cancelled yet. Pike and Stradowski wouldn't share this kind of thing if the show were a lost cause. Also, it's very much worth remembering that Amazon didn't announce that it was renewing The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, its other big epic fantasy series, until over four months after its latest season had wrapped.
Now, I don't think that's the best strategy; especially when it comes to these huge expensive genre series, the sooner the renewal the better, because it takes a long time to scout locations, shoot the show, do post-production work, etc. But if the choice is between getting new episodes of The Wheel of Time a while from now or not getting it at all, the choice is very easy.
The third season of The Wheel of Time was easily the best yet. It felt like the cast and crew were fully in a groove with the book series, the lore deepened and the show grew more confident. While we wait and hope, we're celebrating the many things the show did right:
