The Wheel of Time wants "The Hills of Tanchico" song to win an Emmy

And they want the show to win Outstanding Drama Series. But back to that song...

What is it about epic fantasy series and made-up songs? The Witcher had a hit with "Toss a Coin To Your Witcher" a few years ago. There were a number of bangers from Game of Thrones, like "The Bear and the Maiden Fair" and "The Rains of Castamere." And on the most recent season of The Wheel of Time, Elayne Trakand tricked a bunch of barflies into thinking she wasn't a narc by leading them in a rousing rendition of "The Hills of Tanchico," a bawdy ballad that got everyone singing.

I can't be the only one who themselves singing this for a couple days after the episode aired. Anyway, the 77th Emmy Awards won't be held for some months yet, but Prime Video is trying to get some attention for this song, with this FYC (For Your Consideration) image floating around on Reddit:

So Prime Video is putting the show into contention to win Outstanding Drama Series, which is nice. But they're really coming hard to win the Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics aware for "The Hill of Tanchico," which I think we can all agree is more important.

The poster also mentions that the show should be considered for "other categories." I can think of a few. The costumes by Sharon Gilham are certainly worth a look:

For Your Consideration events and campaigns are held in the months leading up to award shows, in this case the Emmys. You'll probably see a lot of them in the weeks leading up to when the nominations are officially announced on July 15. The actual ceremony will take place on September 14.

Given that The Wheel of Time fans are waiting to see if the show is renewed, a few awards tossed its way can only help its case. And I think this most season was good enough to at least get a few nominations. Might I float the idea of Rosamund Pike (Moiraine), Sophie Okonedo (Siuan Sanche) and Josha Stradowski (Rand al'Thor) for acting nominations? We'll keep on fingers crossed, on all counts.
