Watch the new trailer for Severance season 2, coming to Apple TV+ in January 2025

Hark, sci-fi fans! A new trailer has just dropped for Severance, the mind-bending science fiction drama from Apple TV+ where office workers separate their inner and outer lives into different personalities, neither of which can remember what the other gets up to. The first season of Severance premiered all the way back in early 2022, and the wait has been long for the follow-up. But in just over a month, we'll finally be able to watch what happens next for Mark (Adam Scott) and the rest of his co-workers.
The streamer is clearly ready to get us hyped and remind us why we all loved Severance so much in the first place. This latest trailer builds on some lingering mysteries from season 1, replete with plenty of Severance's brain-melting style. Watch it below:
Severance season 2 puts the Innies in reform as Mark searches for his wife
The first season of Severance included a lot of mysteries, but at its heart was the idea that the Innies — the personalities who existed only in the office of corporation Lumon — wanted to see what the lives of their outer personas were like. Did they have children? Spouses? Would they even want to keep splitting their personalities in half if they knew about the dehumanizing conditions their work-selves were enduring?
Those answers did not come easy to our Innies. Some, like Dylan (Zach Cherry) discovered they had a life on the outside that made them long for escape. Others, like Helly (Britt Lower), had a far more complicated relationship with their Outie, who seemingly wanted her to remain under the thrall of Lumon no matter what.
Perhaps the most shocking were the revelations about Mark. In his Outie life, his wife Gemma died. But late in season 1, Innie Mark saw a picture of Gemma...and realized that she was still alive within the offices of Lumon. The season 2 trailer puts this mystery front and center, as Innie Mark tries to convince his friends to help him uncover what happened to Gemma and how she ended up as wellness counselor Ms. Casey (Dichen Lachman), while Outie Mark demands answers from secretive Lumon exec Harmony Cobel (Patricia Arquette).
The first season of Severance was a really solid season of television, and I can't wait for it to return. I was one of those people who watched it right around the time it aired, and it's been hard to keep up the excitement over these past few years. But with trailers like this, I'm feeling the thrill return. Consider me pumped!
Severance season 2 premieres January 17 on Apple TV+.
