We're almost halfway through the year, and 2025 still has a lot of interesting TV yet to give us. It's time for us to throw a trailer party.

First up, SyFy's sturdy sitcom Resident Alien is returning for a fourth season, with the hard-working Alan Tudyk back for another round as the extraterrestrial who killed a small town Colorado doctor and then took his face, and who then learned he kinda liked humans despite how awkward he was around them. I gotta give it up for any sitcom that lasts this long, especially one with so wild a premise.

The new season begins with Harry (Tudyk) having been replaced by another, more sinister alien, but based on the trailer above, it looks like that plotline gets resolved pretty quickly. There are other hijinks to get to. Resident Evil season 4 premieres on SyFy on June 6.

Ruby Sunday returns in this week's new episode of Doctor Who

Sticking with sci-fi, a new episode of Doctor Who airs tomorrow. It's an important one, since it marks the return of former companion Ruby Sunday (Millie Gibson).

Ruby was the companion of the Fifthteen Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa) when he made his debut last year. In the new season that's currently running, the Doctor has a new companion: Belinda Chandra, played by Varada Sethu. But Ruby is still around, dating a new guy and getting stalked by a vicious monster. So it goes.

The new episode is called "Lucky Day." It airs on Saturday, May 3, on the BBC in the U.K. and on Disney+ most other places around the world.

Watch the trailer for The Gilded Age season 3

Finally we have a trailer for The Gilded Age, HBO's lavish period drama set among the wealthy elite of New York City in the 1880s. Yes, this site covers sci-fi and fantasy and no, The Gilded Age doesn't technically qualify. But it's still a show about people who have way too much money wearing gaudy costumes in magnificently appointed rooms. It's basically Game of Thrones without the stakes.

Anyway, the third season will continue to watch characters played by the likes of Carrie Coon, Christine Baranski and Cynthia Nixon find ways to be upset despite drowning in wealth. I sound sarcastic, but secretly I like this show and will probably be watching when it airs on HBO and Max on Sunday, June 22.
