Here’s everywhere the Game of Thrones film crew will be shooting in Girona

We’re less than a month away from when filming starts in the Spanish city of Girona. With the start date of September 5th right around the corner, the map of official areas where filming will occur has been released, and Los Siete Reinos has gotten a hold of it.

The areas colored yellow are the ones that will be closing down for filming. Some, like the Barri veill, and Sant Pere de Galligants, we already knew about. But LSR highlights one new area we were not aware of before: The Arab Baths. Apparently, they are scheduled to close for filming on September 5th and 12th.

This wouldn’t be the first time Game of Thrones has visited a bathhouse—we were saw the inside of one in Season 4, when Sallahdor Saan visited a bathhouse in Braavos. It’s doubtful that we’re visiting the same bathhouse again, but it does suggest that the hypothesis that Girona is standing in for Braavos this season is the correct one (give or take a few scenes in Carnlough).

Of course, there’s no reason other cities in Essos couldn’t have bath houses. They just don’t seem to be much of a thing in Westeros. Dorne has the Water Gardens, but as far as we know, no bath houses. How about Oldtown? We just don’t know. (Perhaps Girona could be pulling double duty and stand in for some places in Oldtown as well as new areas of Braavos. Double-dipping has happened before.)

Whatever the scenes are, it looks like they will be short ones. Filming is only taking place there twice, and each only for a day.

Plus, we have another tweet of the production working on whatever preparations are being done to the cathedral:

I would assume that the plan is to fit green screens around parts of the building that will have CGI added later? Unless there are city hallmarks set pieces that they plan to add.
