Pictures and Spoilers from Filming at Mesa Roldán As Season 6 Filming Continues

After a short two-day stop at the Mesa Roldán in Carboneras, today Game of Thrones Season 6 rolls to what looks to be the final filming location in Spain: the Alcazaba of Almería. But before we check that out, let’s look at a few pictures and spoilers that leaked out of Carboneras.

—————–Spoilers and Things, Things and Spoilers—————–

You better be sure you want to know before we continue. Otherwise, go back while you still can.

You sure you’re sure? Good.

This weekend we had dueling reports of how many extras there would be at the Mesa Roldán, anywhere from 40 to 400. It turns out it was the lesser number. Forty extras, and 7 principles. We already knew that one of those principles was Peter Dinkalge (Tyrion.) The question was, who would be joining him to make seven?

The answer is in fact Daenerys, according to La Voz de Almería. The publication also spotted Nathalie Emmanuel (Missandei) during the shoot. It looks like the Meereen gang will reunite before the season’s end.

I’m sure everyone is pleased to see her, no?

And it looks like those “40 extras” were Unsullied. So where are her Dothraki hordes? Did they choose not to follow her? Did she leave them in a group, just outside of town?

Meanwhile, as we surmised yesterday, the final Spanish location—the Alcazaba of Almería—will likely stand in for Dorne. We have some really pretty images for the enclosures which look like they are standing in for other areas of the Water Gardens. Or perhaps they could be Sunspear?

I would certainly be pleased if we left the Water Gardens and headed out to Sunspear, if for no other reason than to give Dorne more depth of flavor.

Though this picture suggests that it might just be a different area of the Water Gardens.

According to Diario De Almeria, the Alcazaba will be closed to all outsiders for the next two days for filming. If the security is anything like it was at the Alcazar last year, we won’t know a thing about Dorne that the producers don’t let us see ahead of time. Last year they let us see a lot, since they were promoting the region. This year, they’ve been quite mum about it, so I doubt we’ll get to learn much.
