Welcome to WiC Weekly. Let’s take a look at the biggest bits of Game of Thrones news from the past week.

We’re still sorting through the fallout following George R.R. Martin’s announcement that The Winds of Winter will not be released before Game of Thrones Season 6.

Our writers shared their reactions…

Finally, we hashed out our reactions in this week’s Small Council, and discussed whether the delay will affect how we watch the show.

Shifting gears, it’s time to start prepping for Game of Thrones Season 6. To that end, we’ve collected all the spoilers we have about it in one convenient place.

Since her movie The Forest opens this weekend, Natalie Dormer has been all over the place promoting it. She’s been talking up Game of Thrones in the process.

Entertainment Weekly is having an epic cross-fandom tournament that pits different bits of pop culture against each other. Game of Thrones is on the list, and while it beat the BBC’s Sherlock to take the first round, it’s currently losing the second to The X-Files. Voting goes through Tuesday.

Next, our writer takes a look at MTV’s Shannara Chronicles to see if there’s anything to the Game of Thrones comparisons critics keep making. At the end of the day, Shannara is almost nothing like Game of Thrones, and that’s a good thing.

Here’s some big news: Game of Thrones Season 6 will premiere on April 24, 2016.

What do people most want to see in Season 6? Perhaps you can guess…

Going back to where we started, HBO CEO Richard Plepler gave his own thoughts on how The Winds of Winter delay might affect the show. He commented on the presence of Jon Snow in all those Season 6 marketing materials, as well.
