Amanda Peet’s Ultimatum To Her Husband, Game of Thrones showrunner David Benioff
With the Game of Thrones Season 6 premiere hurtling toward us, the actors and showrunners are out hitting the interview circuit. Their wives are also getting in on the action…well, one wife in particular. Amanda Peet is married to David Benioff, half of Game of Thrones’ dynamic showrunning duo, as well as being an accomplished actor in her own right. Peet is currently part of HBO’s Togetherness, a fun show about four adults trying to remain good friends, siblings, and spouses while achieving their personal goals.
Peet was on Conan to talk about her show, and of course the host broached the topic of Game of Thrones and Jon Snow. Before, Peet threatened to divorce Benioff if Jon Snow died. Now we learn that it was worse than we knew. Check it out:
Next, Peet and O’Brien discussed what kind of characters they would play if they were on Game of Thrones. Peet admitted that she’s tried to get on the show before, but at first she told her husband that it was dumb because it had dragons in it, so now she doesn’t have a leg to stand on when it comes to trying to nab a part. Not that it stops her from trying.
“SEND A F**KING RAVEN TO CASTERLY ROCK”
David Benioff needs to put his wife on the show, like right now. She could play Taena Merryweather, Cersei’s closest confidant in King’s Landing, before she’s captured by the Faith. (This is the show—she could exist after Cersei’s release from the Sept of Baelor). Peet could drink and swear her way around the Iron Throne, and if Tommen gets out of line, she could always send a f**king raven somewhere.
